Dr Lungile Bhengu Baloyi
 

Dr Bhengu-Baloyi is involved in the field of community development and empowerment among the people of this province at all levels of society; socio-economically, as well as beyond KZN province.

She is a committed and dedicated person on issues of children, youth, women and other issues affecting vulnerable groups such as the elderly, the poor and the unemployed.

Dealing with issues of inclusion in many forms has been her passion as a Human Rights and Justice Advocate.

Over a period of more than 30 years Dr Bhengu Baloyi has been doing integrated rural development work that has exposed her to many different aspects of rural life. Matters related to Human Settlements, Economic development, community based planning, water issues, transport issues, Education, Primary Health Care, Traditional Authorities and LED related matters.

As a nutritionist by qualification and Rural Economic Development Advocate, Agriculture has been one of her focal areas.

Her current programme “Personal Growth and Transformation” is making an impact on Social Cohesion and Nation Building and promoting active citizenry and patriotism.

Dr Bhengu-Baloyi is a published author and serves as a Board member to various Councils and Commissions and is currently serving as a KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Planning Commissioner since 2011.

Dr Bhengu-Baloyi has a Doctorate in Public Administration and Development Management.
