Mr Michael Mtshali

Mr Michael Mtshali is a Director of Njaniyena Holdings.

He is currently serving as a councillor representing the National Minister of Agriculture, Land Affairs and Rural Development at Agricultural Produce Agents Council (APAC).

He is a member of Adaptation Network, which is engaged in developing and applying the theory and practice of adaptation to climatic variability and change.

He was employed by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for 38 years at Hlabisa, Mahlabathini, Simdlangentsha, Umbumbulu and Ethekwini and served as ANC branch and sub-region chairperson at Ethekwini.After retirement, he became a farmer and was co-opted to Umdoni Ward 2 Committee on agriculture portfolio for agrarian reform, poverty alleviation and rural development.

He received the KwaZulu-Natal Premier Gold Award for being the Best Frontline Public Service Employee of the Year.

He became DPSA Finalist Best South African Frontline Public Service Employee of the Year.

He has published his work on Global Alliance for Rabies Control (GARC) and South African Veterinary Association Journals.
